Frequently Asked Questions

Below is a list of questions we regularly encounter, but if you find you have a question that doesn't appear on the list, please feel free to forward it to us through the Contact Us page and we'll get an answer to you as soon as possble.

  • How big is the bag?
The Garden Bags are similar to wool sacks, and are set up in a steel frame to hold them open. They hold between 500-600L (which is over double that of a standard 240L wheelie bin).
  • Does the bag need to be near the roadside?
No - we change out full bags by using a sack trolley, thus the bags can be located in a spot convenient for you, as long as we can get our sack trolley in and out (stairs can be an issue).
  • What areas do you cover?
Based in New Plymouth we currently service out to Waitara, Inglewood and Oakura covering everything in between. If you're outside these areas, give us a call and we'll discuss what we can do for you.
  • What can I put in the bag?
Anything that grows in the garden can happily be thrown in the bag, but please NO SOIL or CONCRETE.
  • What happens on Public Holidays?
If your collection falls on a Public Holiday we will still do the pick-up, unless you call to arrange otherwise.
  • What happens to my green waste once you've taken it?
We fully support recycling and finding the best uses for waste - we currently take your waste to Revital Fertilisers where it is mulched, treated and turned into Organic Compost products.
  • How can I pay my account?
If you've been invoiced, you can either forward a cheque, make a deposit to the Greenawaste account or use internet banking to do a transfer electronically. Please contact us if you require account details.
